📋 Step-by-Step Guide (7 Steps)
Square the Sheet and Crease the Top Triangle
Lay a 15x15 cm square sheet colored-side down on a firm surface. Fold the top edge down diagonally to meet the opposite side edge, press the crease firmly using a ruler, and unfold. Repeat with the opposite diagonal corner to create an 'X' crease pattern across the top half of the sheet.

Collapse into a Waterbomb Triangle Base
Turn the paper over and fold the top horizontal edge down through the center intersection of the 'X', crease, and unfold. Flip the paper back over and push gently inward on the left and right horizontal creases, allowing the top section to collapse downward into a flat triangle.

Form the Front Limbs
Take the left outer point of the top triangle layer and fold it diagonally upward so the point aligns with the top peak. Repeat with the right outer point of the top layer. Use the bone folder to flatten both folds firmly, creating diamond-shaped front arms.

Fold the Torso Sides Inward
Fold the left vertical edge of the lower rectangular section inward toward the vertical center crease. Repeat on the right side so both vertical edges meet cleanly at the center seam, narrowing the torso into a slender spearhead shape.

- • Overlapping the side folds at the centerline, making the paper too thick to spring effectively.
Create the Hind Leg Base
Fold the bottom edge of the narrowed torso straight up until it hits the base of the upper triangle. Then, fold the bottom-left and bottom-right corners diagonally downward toward the center bottom, creasing firmly into an arrow shape.

Form the Accordion Spring Mechanism
Fold the entire lower half upward across the horizontal midpoint of the torso. Then, fold only the bottom portion back downward halfway, creating a stepped Z-fold accordion pleat along the lower back.

Decorate and Test the Action Mechanism

Press down gently on the rear spring fold with an index finger and slide your finger backward off the edge to launch the toy forward.
