โš ๏ธ Safety Checkpoints & Warnings

๐Ÿ“‹ Step-by-Step Guide (5 Steps)

1

Set Paper and Make Initial Top Fold

Place the paper horizontally in landscape orientation on your flat work surface. Fold the top edge down towards the bottom by approximately 1.5 to 2 inches (4-5 cm) and press a sharp crease across the entire width.

๐Ÿ‘๏ธ Camera AI Checkpoint
  • โ€ข Paper is landscape-oriented with a neat horizontal fold at the top.
  • โ€ข The crease line runs completely straight and parallel to the top edge.
๐Ÿ›‘ Watch Out For
  • โ€ข Folding in portrait orientation instead of landscape.
  • โ€ข Making the fold crooked or angled.
โš ๏ธ Safety Note: Be mindful of paper cuts along the fresh edges when smoothing creases.
2

Roll and Fold the Thick Band Down

Fold the top section down over itself two more times along the same width. Ensure you leave roughly 2 to 3 inches of single-layer unfolded paper at the bottom.

๐Ÿ‘๏ธ Camera AI Checkpoint
  • โ€ข A thick multi-layered strip visible along the upper half.
  • โ€ข A single-thickness rectangular flap remaining exposed at the bottom half.
๐Ÿ›‘ Watch Out For
  • โ€ข Rolling all the way to the bottom edge leaving no single-ply flap.
  • โ€ข Folding folds of unequal width causing uneven thickness.
โš ๏ธ Safety Note: None.
3

Fold the Entire Sheet in Half Widthwise

Turn the paper over so the smooth side is facing up with the thick band at the top. Fold the paper in half by bringing the left edge over to meet the right edge, keeping the thick folded band visible on the outside.

๐Ÿ‘๏ธ Camera AI Checkpoint
  • โ€ข Paper folded in half vertically down the center.
  • โ€ข Thick multi-ply rim positioned along the outer edge rather than hidden inside.
๐Ÿ›‘ Watch Out For
  • โ€ข Folding with the thick band tucked inside the crease.
  • โ€ข Misaligning the outer side edges during the center fold.
โš ๏ธ Safety Note: None.
4

Slide Inner Flaps to Form Heart Chambers

Grasp the two inner corner folds from the thick rim and pull them gently upward and outward while pushing the outer shell down. Two cone-shaped air chambers should form, creating a double-barrel or heart-shaped profile when viewed from the top.

๐Ÿ‘๏ธ Camera AI Checkpoint
  • โ€ข Two open triangular or cone-shaped hollow barrels formed side-by-side.
  • โ€ข Two loose bottom corner tips protruding together at the base.
๐Ÿ›‘ Watch Out For
  • โ€ข Pulling too hard and tearing the center fold.
  • โ€ข Grabbing the outer rim instead of the internal sliding layers.
โš ๏ธ Safety Note: None.
5

Grip the Bottom Corners and Swing to Pop

Lightly pinch the two bottom tip corners between your thumb and index finger with the open barrels pointing forward. Raise your arm high and snap your wrist downward vigorously through the air; the rushing air catches the chambers and snaps the folded flap outward with a loud pop.

๐Ÿ‘๏ธ Camera AI Checkpoint
  • โ€ข User holding only the bottom tip tabs between two fingers.
  • โ€ข Paper pops open with the inner folded section flying outward.
๐Ÿ›‘ Watch Out For
  • โ€ข Holding the body of the popper too tightly, preventing it from releasing.
  • โ€ข Swinging with the barrel openings pointing backward instead of forward.
โš ๏ธ Safety Note: Ensure an arm's-length clear area in front and below you before executing the downward swing.
