How to Make a Toy Airplane from Plastic Bottles

๐ Step-by-Step Guide (6 Steps)
Prepare the Fuselage
Take the main 500ml bottle and remove any labels and adhesive residue. Mark two horizontal 1-inch slits opposite each other along the mid-body using a marker and ruler. Carefully puncture and slice along these marks using a utility knife to create wing insertion slots.

- โข Misaligning the slits so one side is higher than the other.
Cut the Main Wings and Tail Fin
Trace a continuous 10-inch long airfoil wing shape onto a sturdy piece of cardboard. Draw a vertical tail fin and horizontal stabilizer onto the remaining cardboard. Cut all pieces out smoothly using heavy-duty scissors.

Install the Main Wing Assembly
Slide the one-piece main wing through the side slits of the bottle fuselage until centered. Apply a thin bead of hot glue around the junction where the cardboard meets the bottle on both sides. Hold the wings level for 15 seconds until the adhesive sets.

Attach the Tail Section
Cut a short 1-inch vertical slit in the top rear base of the fuselage bottle. Insert the vertical stabilizer into the slit and secure it with hot glue. Glue the horizontal tail stabilizer horizontally across the rear base just below the vertical fin.

Construct and Mount Landing Gear

Fabricate and Mount the Propeller
Cut a 4-inch two-blade propeller shape from the side wall of the second plastic bottle. Pierce a small hole through the center of the propeller and the main fuselage bottle cap. Secure the propeller loosely to the cap using a small pin or short skewer segment, then screw the cap onto the nose.
