๐งฐ Required Tools & Equipment
- โ Precision craft knife or scissors
- โ Metal ruler
- โ Pencil and eraser
- โ Fine-tip black drawing pen
- โ Colored markers or pencils
๐ฆ Materials & Supplies

โ ๏ธ Safety Checkpoints & Warnings
- โข Always cut away from fingers on a stable cutting mat when using a craft knife.
- โข Cap cutting blades immediately after making precision channel slits.
๐ Step-by-Step Guide (5 Steps)
Score and Fold Outer Card Frame
Measure and cut a piece of cardstock to 15x20 cm. Fold it in half to create a 15x10 cm sleeve base. Cut a 10x7 cm rectangular viewing window into the front flap, leaving a 2.5 cm border around the edges.
- โข Cardstock folded cleanly with a centered rectangular opening cut into the front face.
- โข Cutting too close to the outer border, weakening the frame.
Draw the Repaired Car on White Insert
Cut a cardstock insert measuring 14x9 cm to fit inside the sleeve. Draw and color a fully detailed, clean, shiny car positioned precisely so it aligns with the front window cutout.
- โข A vibrant, fully colored illustration of a pristine car centered on the insert card.
- โข Drawing the car outside the boundary of the window frame.
Trace Damaged Details onto Acetate Layer
Cut a transparent acetate sheet to identical 14x9 cm dimensions. Lay it directly over the pristine car illustration and use an ultra-fine permanent marker to draw scratches, dents, cracked windows, flat tires, and smoke clouds directly over the vehicle.
- โข Clear plastic sheet displaying black damage outlines that overlay perfectly onto the car drawing underneath.
- โข Using water-based marker that smears on plastic.
Attach the Slider Pull Tab and Middle Divider
Tape the top edges of the acetate sheet and pristine car card together to form a dual-layer pull slider. Cut a solid white cardstock divider measuring 14x9 cm and glue its side edges into the card sleeve to separate the acetate from the colored backing.
- โข A dual-layer sliding pull card and a fixed internal white divider glued inside the sleeve.
- โข Gluing across the center of the divider, blocking card insertion.
Assemble and Test the Instant Fix Mechanism
Slide the assembled pull tab into the sleeve so the white fixed divider sits between the acetate top layer and the colored car card. Pull the slider out: the acetate damage lines slide over the white card while the fixed car appears instantly through the window.
- โข Pulling the tab instantly clears all damage lines, revealing the clean colored car in one fluid motion.
- โข Inserting the divider on top of the acetate instead of between layers.
