๐งฐ Required Tools & Equipment
- โ Large mixing bowl
- โ Silicone spatula
- โ Measuring cups
- โ Measuring spoons
- โ Airtight storage container
๐ฆ Materials & Supplies
- โ Clear PVA glue
- โ Room temperature water
- โ Borax powder
- โ Warm water (for activator)
- โ Food coloring (optional)
โ ๏ธ Safety Checkpoints & Warnings
- โข Do not ingest any ingredients, activator, or finished slime.
- โข Wash hands thoroughly after handling borax activator and raw glue.
- โข Avoid touching eyes or face while mixing chemicals.
๐ Step-by-Step Guide (5 Steps)
Prepare Activator Solution
Dissolve one teaspoon of borax powder into one cup of warm water. Stir continuously with a spoon until the liquid turns completely clear and no granules remain on the bottom. Set this solution aside to cool slightly before use.
- โข Completely transparent liquid with zero undissolved powder settled at the bottom.
- โข Using cold water which prevents the borax from dissolving.
Base Glue Pour
Pour exactly one cup of clear PVA glue into the large mixing bowl. Scrape the sides of the measuring cup with the spatula to get the full amount into the center of the bowl. Ensure the glue pool is free of large dust particles.
- โข A thick, transparent pool of clear glue centered in the bottom of the mixing bowl.
- โข Leaving substantial glue stuck inside the measuring container.
Incorporate Water in Stages
Add one-half cup of room-temperature water directly into the clear glue. Stir slowly with the spatula in wide circles to blend the water into the glue without creating micro-bubbles. Add another one-half cup of water once the first pour is fully incorporated.
- โข A uniform, slightly runny liquid without separate water layers floating on top.
- โข Stirring too fast, which traps hundreds of tiny opaque air bubbles.
Activate the Slime
Add the prepared borax activator one teaspoon at a time while stirring steadily with the spatula. Watch for stringy webbing to form and pull away from the bowl perimeter. Continue adding activator by the half-teaspoon until the mass clings together around the spatula.
- โข Slime clumps together into a loose ball, pulling clean away from the walls of the bowl.
- โข Dumping large amounts of activator at once, causing hard rubbery chunks.
Knead for Jiggle and Clarity
Transfer the slime to a clean, non-porous flat surface and begin kneading with both hands. Fold, stretch, and press the slime continuously for three to four minutes until all wetness is absorbed and it bounces when dropped. Place in an airtight container to rest.
- โข Smooth, cohesive mass that wobbles when shaken and releases cleanly from hands.
- โข Giving up early because the slime feels initially too sticky during kneading.
